March is now upon us, and it’s hard to believe that spring will soon be here. Early-bird registration for the CNIE-RCIÉ 2010 conference -which ends on March 31st- has already blossomed. This year’s theme, “Heritage matters: Inspiring Tomorrow” promises a wealth of professional development opportunity for all our member communities. Then of course, there are also the great keynote speakers representing a wide range of expertise and a wider variety of geographical locations. Visiting Alec Couros’ class and listening to Nora Young’s podcast 104 on Online Friendship and the geoweb was informative. Are you listed on www.pleaserobme.com? Daniel Peraya’s talk on youtube interview (Interview de Daniel PERAYA) only wets the appetite for more. Using technology in intelligent ways to improve pedagogy touches us all. How more innovative than these speakers can you get? This is only the tip of the iceberg, as the concurrent sessions and panel discussions promise to be just as thought-provoking.

New this year is the creation of pre-conference virtual meeting spaces in Ning, Facebook and Twitter. These venues allow members to e-socialize and share ideas. As in-coming President, I encourage you to introduce yourselves to me either virtually at Ning or at the conference. To help lead your organisation we on your Board need a full understanding of members’ needs and concerns.
